Honey sriracha tofu

Ingredients

  • 14 oz block of medium firm tofu
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons potato/corn starch (for dusting)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • (Optional) 1 scallion, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Drain the tofu from the package and place on a plate
  2. Let sit for 15-20 minutes to remove excess water
  3. Whisk together sauce in a bowl and set aside
    1. garlic, minced (1 clove)
    2. sriracha sauce (2 tablespoons)
    3. soy sauce (1 tablespoon)
    4. honey (1 ½ tablespoon)
    5. rice vinegar (1 tablespoon)
  4. Dust tofu with cornstarch until all sides are coated
  5. Heat medium to large pan on high heat
  6. Add oil and heat until hot
  7. Add tofu cubes being careful of splatter
  8. Fry each side 2-3 minutes until golden brown
  9. Add sauce and gently coat tofu cubes
  10. Cook for 3 minutes
  11. Turn off heat
  12. Add sesame oil and sesame seeds and stir
  13. Serve topped with scallions
